How it works?
It comes to our system by various way like mails,whatsapp messages, or by social media links. When we click on some unknown links, or install some unknown applications or softwares in our pcs or laptops or phones the virus started to run and code itself automatically. Recently a very dangerous ransomware attack had done to the banks, big companies. It attacked in their systems and encrypt all of their databases. It demanded a very high amount of money from them to provide them the decrypt key. It pressurized them to fulfill the demanded money within a particular mentioned time.
How you know that you are a victim or not?
Actually you need not not to worry about it. When you are under the attack of this malware a message will be flashed in your screen that your files are now encrypted. see below ....

There is no guarantee that paying the fine or doing what the ransomware tells you will give access to your pc or files again.
How to be safe from it?
It features unbreakable encryption,which means that you can't decrypt the files on your own(there are various decryption tools released by cyber security researches). The only way to keep your important files in safe is to take a backup of your those files. Run your system under powerful antivirus, keep it updated every time. Now you are 90% secure of it.
Why it is not trackable?
Actually it requests payment in Bitcoins, because this crypto-currency cannot be tracked by cyber securities or law enforcements agencies.
